Job summary

GSL Education - Manchester is recruiting a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Tameside, supporting a Year 3 pupil with ASD. This is a full-time, long-term role to help the pupil access learning throughout the school day.

You will work under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO, building trust and using strategies to support engagement, communication and emotional regulation, including during transitions and unstructured times.

Qualifications

• Supports a Year 3 pupil with ASD on a 1:1 basis.
• Experience in primary KS1/KS2 settings preferred.
• Confident in using positive behaviour strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with ASD.
• Build trusting relationships to support engagement and regulation.
• Support access to learning during lessons and routines.
• Assist with transitions, playtime, and lunchtime as needed.
• Liaise with class teacher, SENCO, and parents as part of the wider team.
