Job summary

Aspire People is seeking an Early Years Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in Oldbury with 1:1 attention and in-class assistance. The role focuses on enabling access to learning, building confidence, and promoting positive behaviour in early years settings.

Experience with children and SEN support is valuable; qualifications such as Level 2/3 TA are nice to have but not required. Training and a supportive school community are offered.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children (ideally in a school setting).
• Understanding of supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) or additional needs.
• Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
• A positive and proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs, both in and out of the classroom.
• Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging learning activities.
• Help to manage behaviour in a positive and consistent way.
• Support the pupil's social and emotional development.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals.
