Job summary

Aspire People is seeking an Early Years Teaching Assistant for a school in Oldbury. You will support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, helping access learning and build confidence.

The role involves assisting in planning engaging activities and promoting positive behaviour to enable learning across the Early Years. Experience with children and SEN is desirable; Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children (ideally in a school setting).
• Understanding of supporting pupils with SEN or additional needs.
• Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs, both in and out of the classroom.
• Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging learning activities.
• Help to manage behaviour in a positive and consistent way.
• Support the pupil's social and emotional development.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals.
