Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Secondary Specialist Tutor to work with Hampshire-based learners, delivering tailored 1:1 support outside the classroom. You’ll help students progress toward qualifications, reintegrate into education, and overcome barriers.

This role offers flexible hours, a September start, and the chance to work with Local Authorities to make a direct impact on outcomes for secondary-aged learners with SEND or other needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting (tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, mentoring or similar).
• Experience supporting secondary-aged learners.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally across Hampshire.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 tutoring outside of a traditional classroom.
• Adapt teaching to meet individual needs and support progress.
• Support students with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable.
