Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a dedicated Primary SEN Tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition for primary-aged pupils with SEND. You’ll assess needs, set objectives and plan structured lessons aligned with the National Curriculum, delivering engaging sessions in homes, schools or community settings.

Experience with autism, ADHD, dyslexia and speech and language needs is valued. The role requires effective communication, safeguarding commitment and an enhanced DBS.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with primary-aged children with SEND/SEN.
  • Experience delivering 1:1 tuition or personalised classroom support.
  • Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum, particularly English, maths and phonics.
  • A recognised teaching or tutoring qualification, such as QTS, PGCE/PGDE or another relevant certification.
  • A good understanding of different SEN needs and effective primary teaching strategies.
  • A patient, empathetic and adaptable approach.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, personalised 1:1 tuition for primary-aged pupils.
  • Assess each child's learning needs and establish appropriate objectives.
  • Plan and deliver structured, differentiated lessons aligned with individual learning plans and the National Curriculum.
  • Adapt teaching approaches, resources and strategies to suit each child's age and needs.
  • Monitor progress and provide clear reports on learning and outcomes.
