Job summary

Remedy Tutors is seeking passionate Secondary SEN Tutors to provide tailored 1:1 tuition for secondary pupils across homes, schools, and community settings in the UK. You’ll support learners with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other needs, delivering GCSE-focused instruction and developing literacy, numeracy and study skills.

Role involves planning differentiated lessons, using individual learning plans, and collaborating with families and schools to monitor progress and achievement.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with secondary-aged children or young people with SEND/SEN.
  • Experience delivering 1:1 tuition, interventions or personalised classroom support.
  • Strong knowledge of the secondary curriculum or subject specialism.
  • Experience teaching or supporting GCSE-level subjects is desirable.
  • QTS/PGCE or equivalent teaching/tutoring qualification.
  • Understanding of different SEN needs and effective teaching strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, personalised 1:1 tuition for secondary-aged pupils.
  • Support pupils with needs including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, speech and language needs, SEMH and other learning difficulties.
  • Teach across the secondary curriculum; may specialise in English, maths, science, languages or GCSE subjects.
  • Prepare pupils for GCSEs, functional skills qualifications and assessments.
  • Assess learning needs and set objectives; plan differentiated lessons aligned with curricula.
  • Monitor progress and report learning outcomes; collaborate with parents, schools and SENCOs.
