Responsibilities

• To help prepare, monitor and maintain a safe and secure learning environment in line with the teacher’s lesson plans.
• To work under the direct supervision of a teacher to carry out planned learning activities with small groups or individual pupils, providing feedback on their engagement in activities and their achievement of the desired learning objectives.
• Encouraging a high standard of behaviour, develop relationship with others and recognize and deal with emotions in an appropriate way
• To prepare and utilise ICT resources to support pupils learning.
• To prepare and support the use of learning materials and create visual displays, in accordance with the requirements of the teacher, in order to facilitate a relevant physical learning environment.

Learning Support Assistant

Sileby Redlands Community Primary School
Salary: Grade 5 Pay Point 7-8 (£26,022 - £26,436 per annum, approximate starting salary of £19,555.86 )

Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Term Time Only + Inset Days)
Contract Type: Fixed term until August 2027.

Forest School experience would be advantageous, although full consideration will be given to candidates without this experience.

About the Role

Sileby Redlands Community Primary School are looking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and highly motivated Learning Support Assistant who will work under the direct supervision of a teacher to provide support for teaching and learning and associated activities in accordance with school policies and procedures.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications:

• NVQ 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent OR Able to demonstrate the ability to meet the STL Level 2 National Occupational Standards relevant to this post.

Experience:

• Experience of supporting teaching and learning in a formal setting
• Forest School experience would be advantageous, although full consideration will be given to candidates without this experience.

Skills & Knowledge:

• Knowledge of child protection and health and safety procedures.
• Ability and willingness to undertake professional development.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
