Job summary

Sidney Stringer Primary Academy in Coventry is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support an individual child with a tailored learning plan. You will work under the guidance of the class teacher to enable access to learning and assist with classroom management, within a friendly school environment.

The role is fixed term, 32.5 hours per week, term-time only (8.30am–3.30pm) with five training days.

Qualifications

• Good numeracy and literacy skills.
• Evidence of having worked with children in some capacity.
• A positive interest in working with children.
• Knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of legislation.
• General understanding of National Curriculum, the foundation stage and other basic learning programmes.
• Ability to build good working relationships with a range of colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Support an individual child with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP).
• Enable access to learning for children and assist the teacher in the management of children and the classroom.
• Work may be carried out in the classroom or in other teaching areas.
