Job summary

Cognita is seeking a caring, enthusiastic 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to support a child with additional learning needs in a Breaside School setting in Bromley. You will tailor support to access the curriculum, foster communication and social-emotional growth, and work within the Primary Stage Curriculum planning and assessment.

The role is part-time, 12 hours per week across 3 mornings, requiring NVQ Level 3 in Childcare (or equivalent) and GCSE English/Maths at grade C/4 or above, plus

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Childcare (or equivalent) and GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above.
• Experience supporting primary-aged children and understanding of the Primary Curriculum.
• Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with a child with Additional Learning Needs to access the curriculum.

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work closely with a child with additional learning needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child's educational journey by providing tailored support to help them access the curriculum, develop communication skills, and thrive socially and emotionally. The candidate is required to work closely with the child and as part of the whole class, to work within the standards and requirements of the Primary Stage Curriculum planning and assessment, as well as helping the child with their attainment levels to achieve their full potential.

This is a part-time position, working 12 hours a week (3 mornings)

Who We Are Looking For:

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and professional Teaching Assistant with an NVQ Level 3 qualification in Childcare (or equivalent) and GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above. The successful candidate will have experience supporting primary-aged children and a strong understanding of the Primary Curriculum. They will be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to build positive relationships with children, colleagues and parents. With a calm and confident approach, they will be able to work effectively under pressure, demonstrate sensitivity and discretion, and be comfortable using Microsoft Office and other IT systems to support their work.
