Job summary

Warren Mead Schools is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to support a pupil with autism in a term-time role. The post involves behavioural and social support, high-frequency intervention and regulation to enhance the pupil's learning journey.

You will work closely with school staff and external agencies to sustain wellbeing and progress. The ideal candidate will have autism experience or training and be able to build positive relationships, stay calm under pressure, and

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with autism or autism support training.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with young children.
  • Ability to stay calm and objective when faced with challenging behaviour.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team and collaborate with external agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 behavioural and social support for an individual pupil.
  • Deliver high-frequency intervention and regulation support as part of the pupil's learning journey.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents and staff to support wellbeing.
  • Contribute to inclusive practices within the school and cluster.
