Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a caring Learning Partner to work with a pupil with SEN in a Patchway primary school. You will provide dedicated 1:1 support to help the pupil access learning and participate in classroom activities.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SEND team, adapting activities to promote independence and confidence. A DBS on Update Service is required or willingness to obtain one, along with 24 months of references.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Experience in a primary school or educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to obtain/enhanced DBS on the Update Service and provide 24 months of references.

Job description

We're looking for a caring, patient and enthusiastic Learning Partner to join a welcoming primary school in Patchway, providing dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

This is a genuinely rewarding role where no two days are the same. You'll be helping a child build confidence, overcome barriers to learning and celebrate those brilliant little wins that make all the difference.

What you'll be doing

Working closely with the class teacher and SEND team, you'll provide tailored 1:1 support to help your pupil access learning, develop socially and emotionally, and feel confident in the classroom.

You'll adapt activities where needed, encourage independence and be a calm, reassuring presence throughout the school day.

We're looking for someone who:
  • Has experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Has experience working within a primary school or educational setting, this is highly desirable
  • Is patient, compassionate and able to build positive relationships with children
  • Can remain calm, adaptable and encouraging, even on challenging days
  • Holds an Enhanced Child Only DBS on the Update Service, or is willing to obtain one
  • Can provide 24 months of references as part of the compliance process
