Job summary

Westonbirt Prep in Tetbury seeks an experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 pupil with dyslexia and working memory needs. The role is 20.5 hours per week, term-time, mornings only, fixed-term.

You will plan and deliver targeted literacy and numeracy support, follow handwriting programmes, and help with organisation and independent writing. Applicants should have a dyslexia qualification or proven experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold a dyslexia qualification or have considerable demonstrable experience working with dyslexia.
• A caring and sympathetic person who enjoys working with children.

• A team player willing to support colleagues and cover duties as needed.
• Good organisational and time-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare resources and deliver 1:1 intervention daily where required.
• Support the pupil to apply strategies within the classroom for literacy skills.
• Follow and deliver handwriting programmes and assist recording where appropriate.
• Provide support for independent writing and working memory challenges.
• Support numeracy and executive functioning such as organisation and punctuality.
