Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Support Assistant in Wide Open to provide one-to-one support to primary school pupils. The role focuses on helping children thrive academically and personally within a supportive team.

With at least two years of experience with children, you will work alongside teachers and specialists to tailor learning and behaviour strategies to individual needs, promoting confidence and active participation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' experience working with children in educational or childcare settings.
• Experience supporting children with additional learning needs is desirable.
• Genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
• Patient, caring and empathetic approach to supporting children's needs.
• Good organisational skills and ability to record and report pupil progress.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and record the pupil's progress and provide feedback to teachers and professionals.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, parents and external agencies as required.
• Adapt learning resources and teaching approaches to meet individual needs.
• Promote positive behaviour in line with school policies.
• Encourage the pupil's confidence, independence and engagement in the classroom.
