1:1 Behavioral Mentor - Support Role

Location: Leicester, Leicestershire

Start Date: January 2025

Rate: 100 per day

Contract: Full-time, 5 days a week

Aspire People are looking for a dedicated and dynamic Behavioral Mentor to provide 1:1 support for a child with behavioural challenges at a primary school in Leicester. This role will start in January 2025, offering a daily rate of 100 for a full-time, Monday to Friday commitment.

As a Behavioral Mentor, you will work closely with the child to help manage challenging behaviours, improve social skills, and support emotional regulation in a school setting. You'll help implement positive behaviour strategies, support academic engagement, and foster a sense of confidence and inclusion for the child. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional behavioural needs and is looking for a rewarding challenge in a school-based environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 behavioural support for a primary-aged child with behavioural challenges
  • Implement positive behaviour strategies and interventions to help the child manage emotions and behaviour
  • Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to create and adapt learning strategies tailored to the child's needs
  • Support the child during lessons, group activities, and transitions to ensure they remain focused and engaged
  • Help the child develop social skills, build confidence, and foster positive relationships with peers and adults
  • Monitor and track progress, providing feedback to the SENCO and teaching team to adjust support as needed
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Experience working with children who have behavioural difficulties, SEN, or emotional needs
  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach, with the ability to manage challenging behaviours constructively
  • A good understanding of behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with school staff, parents, and the child
  • A passion for making a positive difference in a child's educational and emotional development
