Job summary

Kindred is seeking reliable cleaners to work at The Minster School in Southwell. You will clean classrooms, toilets and common areas, contributing to a safe and welcoming environment across our sites.

The role is based in-school during Monday to Friday, 15:30-19:30 with a pay rate of £13.45 per hour. A DBS check is required, and Kindred supports applicants through a fair recruitment process.

Qualifications

Ability to perform physical tasks with reasonable adjustments.
Able to follow written and spoken instructions.
Capable of working to deadlines and schedules.
Good communication in English, not necessarily native.

Responsibilities

Dust, vacuum, sweep and mop floors to keep areas clean.
Clean and sanitise surfaces, touchpoints, and furniture.
Empty bins and manage waste disposal.
Restock supplies such as soap, towels and toilet rolls.
Carry out periodic deep-cleaning tasks when needed.
Use cleaning equipment safely and store after use.
Report maintenance issues or hazards promptly.
Work independently while supporting colleagues as needed.
Maintain a professional, inclusive and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities:

As a cleaner with Kindred, you will play an important role in creating a safe and welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and service users. Your duties will include:

General Cleaning Tasks:

Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors.
Cleaning and sanitising surfaces, touchpoints, and furniture.
Emptying bins and ensuring waste is disposed of correctly.
Replenishing supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet rolls.

Specialist & Deep Cleaning:

Carrying out periodic deep‑cleaning tasks (e.g., carpet cleaning, polishing floors).
Using appropriate cleaning materials for different surfaces to maintain standards and protect equipment.

Health, Safety & Compliance:

Using cleaning equipment safely (e.g., buffers, steamers, vacuums), ensuring proper storage after use.
Following health & safety regulations, including safe use of cleaning chemicals (COSHH).
Reporting any maintenance issues, hazards, or damages promptly.

Teamwork & Independence:

Working independently to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision.
Supporting colleagues as needed to ensure high overall cleanliness standards.

Customer Care & Presentation:

Ensuring cleaning standards reflect Kindred’s commitment to a professional, inclusive, and welcoming environment.
Being polite and respectful when working in areas where staff, clients, or visitors are present.
