Job summary

City Lit in London’s Covent Garden area seeks an experienced Tutor Coordinator for the Jewellery programme. You will design and program high-quality courses, coordinate tutors and staff, and lead growth while teaching when required.

Join City Lit’s Visual Arts team to promote industry-connected jewellery education, ensure quality, and engage a diverse student body across evening and weekend sessions.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and managing courses in adult education.

• Active jewellery practice with links to industry.
• Ability to teach two or more areas of jewellery to a high standard.

Hours: 21 hours per week (across 3 days) with occasional evening and weekend work

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and creative Tutor Coordinator to join the Visual Arts team, and take responsibility for the design, programming, coordination and growth of the high-quality courses in the Jewellery programme area.

In this role you will be a key contributor to the design of a distinctive and high-quality programme, through your expertise within the jewellery field, including industry and technical experience. You will take a lead on the promotion and success of the programme area, along with supporting tutors, technicians and students. You will have responsibility for administrative and quality assurance procedures, and you will also teach on the programme when needed.

• Experience of developing and managing courses and curriculum in an adult education setting.
• Experience in coordinating a team of tutors, including planning and oversight of courses.
• Up-to-date knowledge, enthusiasm and interest in jewellery design and making.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt approaches to engage a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
• A current jewellery practice, with tight links to industry and demonstratable evidence of contemporary practice.
• Experience in teaching two or more areas of jewellery to a high standard within the adult education sector.
