Wärtsilä France is hiring a Workshop Manager H/F to join our Special Applications (SA) team, focusing on refurbishing backup engines for nuclear power plants and the Leclerc tank engine for the French army. The role is permanent, with a preferred location in Surgeres.

What you will do:

• Context:
  • Supervise a team of approximately 80 people.
  • Manage 8 direct managers across various departments (Methods, Maintenance, Sub-assembly, Test benches, Piping, Logistics, Military and nuclear engine assembly line).
• Your missions:
  • Optimize human and material resources.
  • Plan workshop activities, delegate tasks, and manage workload and resources.
  • Oversee project execution with the Contracts department.
  • Provide expertise on production flow management.
  • Implement KPIs and activity monitoring indicators.
  • Coordinate with internal clients, mainly the Contracts team, for schedule tracking.
  • Establish and monitor performance indicators and workshop budgets.
  • Support the General Manager Operations with your expertise.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards in military and nuclear sectors.
  • Foster a strong culture of quality, safety, and environmental responsibility.
  • Maintain effective communication within and across teams.
  • Develop team members' skills.
  • Support productivity and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you bring:

• Education: Master’s degree (Bac +5).
• Experience: At least 10 years in managerial roles within an industrial environment, preferably mechanical.
• Knowledge of procurement, financial, and operational processes.
