Your role :
Within the Essilor Instruments department, the Vision Scientist will join the Scientific Department, under the responsibility of the Optometry Innovation Team Manager. The position involves leading innovative research programs, contributing to product definition, and drawing up clinical study protocols to support product development and validation, in compliance with regulations.
He / she will provide scientific expertise to the company's various departments and will contribute to the dissemination of knowledge in his / her field of expertise. He / she will join a team responsible for delivering technological and scientific innovations for creating new instruments and expand / improve existing ones.
Main responsibilities :
Conduct upstream projects using technical or scientific expertise
Define and manage future research plans
Define tomorrow's products, uses and applications, in line with market needs
Produce scientific material and promote scientific excellence at a global level
Drive new products and functions ideas to the Innovation Pipeline
Act as principal investigator for clinical investigations
Main requirements :
Educational Background : Master’s Degree in Vision Sciences / Optometry; PhD in Vision Sciences / Optometry / Neurosciences is optional
At least 5- 8 years’ experience in an innovation role
Track record of scientific publications : articles, patents, white papers; able to do literature search and analysis
Ability to understand, digest and disseminate complex concepts at levels appropriate for the target audience
Definition and management of research projects
Understanding of the specifications of new medical device
Clinical investigations : experimental design, statistical analysis plans, study protocol writing & reviewing
Eager to grow
Interested in making a difference to the health of people
Nice to have :
Experience as a clinical study investigator,in clinical data analysis and report writing
Product oriented and interested in User Experience
Practical knowledge of Medical Device frameworks
