Fetch Specialty and Emergency Veterinary Centers is seeking an experienced veterinary technician to join our emergency team in Brandon, FL.

This is a full-time swing position with 12-hour shifts, scheduled three days per week. Available shift options include:

  • 12:00 PM - 12:00 AM - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday
  • 2:00 PM - 2:00 AM - Friday
  • 4:00 PM - 4:00 AM - Tuesday, Thursday
***Sign-on Bonus***

Shift Differentials:

Sunday - Thursday Night differential $4.00 (7:30 PM - 7:30 AM)

Friday/Saturday Night differential $6.00 (7:30 PM - 7:30 AM)

Saturday/Sunday Daytime differential $2.00 (7:30 AM - 7:30 PM)

An emergency veterinary technician plays a critical role in initial patient assessment, prioritization, and emergency care, requiring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician
  • Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) preferred
  • Experience in emergency or specialty veterinary medicine preferred
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary protocols and procedures
  • Excellent technical skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle animals of various sizes and temperaments
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility for on-call, weekend, and holiday shifts
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with team members to provide excellent patient care
  • Maintain attention to detail and demonstrate strategic, forward, and critical thinking
  • Perform nursing skills such as animal restraint, vital signs, anesthesia monitoring, intubation, catheterization, phlebotomy, treatments, and medication administration
  • Monitor patients using advanced equipment and protocols
  • Understand anesthetic protocols and assist with anesthesia
  • Operate in-house lab machines, send out samples, and take radiographs
  • Discuss diagnostics, procedures, and treatments with clients
  • Accurately document medical records
  • Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, and emergencies
  • Assist with hospital cleanliness, stocking, and equipment maintenance
  • Communicate compassionately with pet owners and referring vets
