Position: Verification & Validation Manager

Focus Area: Remote & Autonomous Driving (F/M/X)

Join our team at the Innovation Center in Villeurbanne to develop solutions for Autonomous Trains. We are seeking a talented Verification & Validation Manager for our Obstacle Detection program within a lean startup framework, collaborating with engineering, software, and mobility experts in an international context.

Your Mission

As a Verification and Validation Manager, you will help build the foundation for future Alstom autonomous train solutions. You will participate in programs such as environment perception, obstacle detection, and remote train driving. Your role involves leading, organizing, and executing verification, integration, and testing activities across software, product, and system levels, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery standards.

You will also support V&V activities within projects on the sub-systems of Obstacle Detection and/or remote driving.

Responsibilities

  • Define the Program Verification and Validation strategy within the V&V Plan, ensuring comprehensive coverage and demonstrating that design requirements and use cases are met. Coordinate contributions from all stakeholders;
  • Develop or enhance the V&V testbench features needed for programs or projects, including needs assessment, architecture design, and implementation;
  • Ensure adherence to reference processes, methods, and tools, requesting deviations when appropriate;
  • Establish and agree on V&V activity schedules for involved programs or projects;
  • Manage full verification and validation of testing equipment;
  • Stay informed on technological advancements through continuous technological watch;
  • Promote the Alstom Code of Ethics and uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct.

Competencies

  • Engineering or master’s degree with significant proven experience in system Validation & Verification;
  • Strong analytical skills and previous experience in testing and integration;
  • Knowledge in at least one domain such as hardware, software, product, or system;
  • Experience in robotics, autonomous vehicles, or railway systems;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and openly with various stakeholders;
  • Proficiency in adopting new technologies and tools.

Other Requirements

  • Valid driving license;
  • Fluent in both French and English; knowledge of German is a plus.
