Harmattan AI seeks a Drone System Validation Technician and Pilot to ensure airworthiness of our autonomous drones and to support engineers during field campaigns.

You will manage the validation lab, perform maintenance, pilot drones in test campaigns, handle logistics, and help keep the workshop safe and stocked.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or relevant experience in electronics, mechanics, or RC modeling.
• Excellent manual dexterity: soldering, wiring, and mechanical assembly.
• Organised and safety-conscious.
• Drone piloting: experience piloting multi-rotor or fixed-wing UAVs (certification is a massive plus).
• Strong interest for DIY
• A2 English level
• Willingness to travel for field testing.

• Fleet Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on the drone fleet (soldering, mechanical assembly, part replacement).
• Flight Operations: Pilot drones during test campaigns and act as the safety operator.
• Logistics: Manage inventory of spare parts, batteries, and field equipment; organize transport for test campaigns.
• Test Execution: Execute standard test protocols (checklists) and report results to the engineering team.
• Lab Management: Keep the workshop organised, safe, and fully stocked.

About the Role

As a Drone System Validation Technician and Pilot, you are the backbone of our flight operations. You ensure that our fleet of autonomous drones is airworthy, updated, and ready for deployment at a moment's notice. You will manage the validation lab and support engineers during complex field campaigns.
