Job summary

Photon seeks a Creative Lead to drive hands-on UX and UI design for a Société Générale account. You will work with the Associate Creative Director to translate user needs, business priorities, and creative direction into polished digital experiences.

In a two‑person design team, you will own wireframes, visual designs, and interactive prototypes, shaping a compelling creative vision and delivering detailed designs for handoff to engineering.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in digital product design with strong UX and UI
• Portfolio showing ideation, interaction design, polished UI craft, and end-to-end design execution
• Advanced proficiency in Figma including Auto Layout, components, variants, variables, and design tokens
• Strong skills in responsive design, interactive prototyping, accessible design, and design systems
• Experience in information architecture and usability testing with user research synthesis
• Ability to explain design decisions and defend them with rationale in client reviews
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and delivery against plans
• Fluent French, able to participate in workshops and present decisions confidently
• Based in Paris or willing to relocate to Paris area
• Experience using AI-assisted design tools for ideation or prototyping is a plus

Responsibilities

• Hands-on UX and UI design: create wireframes, high‑fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes
• Develop original concepts and contribute to the creative vision with the ACD

As part of a two-person design team, you will be the primary producer of wireframes, visual designs, and interactive prototypes. You should bring the imagination to originate a compelling creative vision and the craft to carry it through detailed design and development handoff.

Your responsibilities

Hands-on UX and UI design

• Create user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes that address user needs and business objectives.
• Develop original concepts and distinct visual directions, contributing actively to the creative vision alongside the ACD.
• Translate an agreed direction into a cohesive experience through strong interaction design, typography, layout, hierarchy, color, and component design.
• Design responsive experiences that account for accessibility, content variation, and relevant interaction states.
• Create, maintain, and extend reusable components, design tokens, and design system documentation.
• Prepare clear, organized design files and specifications for engineering handoff.

Discovery, research, and testing

• Support the ACD in preparing and conducting stakeholder and user interviews, synthesizing findings, and mapping user journeys.
• Participate in Creative Discovery workshops and translate their findings into practical design decisions.
• Develop information architecture collaboratively with the ACD.
• Plan and conduct usability testing with the ACD, prepare prototypes and supporting materials, and incorporate findings into subsequent iterations.
• Own the progress and quality of your design deliverables against the agreed project and sprint plans.
• Work with the ACD to break down design activities, assess effort, and flag dependencies or risks early.
• Present work clearly, explain your rationale, and contribute constructively to client reviews.
• Capture and implement feedback, maintain visibility of outstanding decisions, and prepare work for review and signoff.
• Collaborate with business analysts and engineers to clarify requirements, communicate behavior, and resolve design questions.
• Review implemented work and identify adjustments needed to preserve design quality and intent.

Creative collaboration and leadership

• Bring ideas and recommendations proactively, taking ownership of design problems from exploration through resolution.
• Apply the ACD’s direction while contributing your own informed perspective and creative judgment.
• Demonstrate disciplined design practice, constructive collaboration, and accountability for quality.
• Follow Photon’s delivery processes, presentation standards, and documentation requirements.

What you bring

• Seven to ten years of experience in digital product design, with strong proficiency in both UX and UI.
• A portfolio demonstrating original ideation, clear interaction design, polished visual execution, and the ability to develop an experience from concept through detailed design.
• Advanced Figma proficiency, including Auto Layout, components, variants, variables, and design tokens.
• Strong capability in responsive design, interactive prototyping, accessible design, and creating or extending design systems.
• Experience developing information architecture and conducting usability testing, with the ability to support interviews and research synthesis.
• The ability to explain design decisions confidently, respond thoughtfully to feedback, and collaborate closely with clients and engineering teams.
• Strong organization and attention to detail, with a track record of delivering against agreed plans.
• Fluent French, with the ability to participate in workshops, present work, and discuss design decisions confidently.

Preferred experience

• Experience using AI-assisted design tools to support ideation, prototyping, or production, with critical review of generated outputs.
• Based in Paris.

Your portfolio should demonstrate the work you personally designed, including examples of both UX thinking, full process and finished UI craft. Be prepared to explain how you developed the original concept, explored alternatives, responded to feedback, and prepared the design for implementation.
