Role Description & Responsibilities:

Dassault Systèmes Americas is seeking a self-motivated User Experience Researcher to join our team in Waltham, MA.

What will your job be?

The User Experience Researcher provides user research support to the SOLIDWORKS User Experience design team across the full portfolio of SOLIDWORKS and 3DS products. This includes planning and conducting formative research activities across Discovery, Concept, and Detailed design phases, as well as summative research to improve the overall product experience. They handle Research Operations, supporting efficient research activities from participant recruitment to maintaining research materials and our findings repository. They will also mentor other designers to enhance their research skills.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in User Experience, Human Factors, or related fields.
• 5-8 years of professional experience as a user researcher, performing both qualitative and quantitative studies.
• Ability to conduct a broad range of user research techniques to address key design questions.
• Background in engineering, CAD software, or technical skills is a plus.
• A portfolio of prior user research work will be requested during the interview process.
• Experience with interviewing, contextual inquiry, survey design, task analysis, usability testing, persona development, heuristic evaluation, expert reviews, benchmarking, field studies, focus groups, UX metrics, data analysis, and report writing.
• Experience in interviewing, group facilitation, and customer interaction.
• Ability to synthesize research findings into actionable insights.
• Proficiency in handling data, research reports, and communicating findings effectively.
• Strong communication skills with customers and internal teams such as UX designers and product managers.
