Open to contractual candidates: Yes, as a derogation from civil servant applications. Contracts may be up to three years, renewable up to six years. Non-civil servants may be recruited directly, as some grades are entry-level category C positions without requiring an exam.

Job Summary: To ensure safe and optimal movement of network users, the Department of Roads, Infrastructure, and Mobility manages over 1000 agents on a network of 6,410 km of roads and highways, including construction, maintenance, operation, and communication infrastructure.

The Vehicle and Rhine Bacs (PVBR) provide and maintain all vehicles and equipment used by the European Collectivity of Alsace (CeA), including maintenance of three Rhine Bacs Rhineau-Kappel, Drusenheim-Greffern, and Seltz-Plittersdorf, with facilities in Strasbourg and Colmar.

Position Responsibilities:

• Maintenance, repair, and servicing of vehicles and equipment: Heavy vehicles, tractors, vans, light vehicles, and their equipment; diagnostics, parts procurement, welding, and repairs; ensure traceability of interventions; assist in vehicle diagnostics and repairs; maintain workstations and equipment.
• Maintenance of Rhine Bacs: Preventive and corrective maintenance, urgent repairs, and scheduled work, including night shifts and on-call duties.
• Winter road maintenance operations: Driving or accompanying winter service vehicles for snow and ice removal; on-call during winter season.

Candidate Profile:

• CAP/BEP in Mechanical Engineering for Trucks or Agricultural Machinery
• Experience preferred
• Knowledge of heavy and light vehicle mechanics, hydraulics, agricultural or construction machinery; familiarity with workshop tools and safety rules
• Organizational skills, autonomy, diagnostic skills, adherence to deadlines, teamwork, reactivity, adaptability, communication skills
