BTIS is seeking a skilled Commercial Insurance Underwriter with MGA, MGU, or insurance experience to join our Workers Compensation Insurance team. The ideal candidate will assess and underwrite commercial insurance applications, ensuring profitability and sustainability. Responsibilities include:

• Determine eligibility of risks based on guidelines, using knowledge and judgment. Respond to agent inquiries via phone, email, chat, mail, and fax.
• Review applications and documentation to assess risk acceptability.
• Recommend premiums and coverage after analysis of documentation and business factors.
• Communicate underwriting decisions and proposals in writing.
• Analyze commercial accounts and evaluate pricing and coverage.
• Manage your book of business to meet profitability goals.
• Build positive relationships.
• Assist with policy binding, endorsements, renewals, and new business underwriting.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (Required)
• 3+ years underwriting experience
• Strong technical skills, knowledge of Workers Compensation products
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications and learning new software
• Must have MGA, MGU, or insurance experience
• Attention to detail, dependability, and follow-through
• Analytical skills and ability to present recommendations
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with maturity
• Strong work ethic and time management
• Interpersonal skills and professionalism
• Willingness to work non-traditional shifts

Pay Range:

$64,480 to $75,000, depending on location, experience, skills, and industry knowledge.
