UNARMED SECURITY OFFICER

POSITION SUMMARY

Unarmed security officers maintain a safe and secure environment at businesses, organizations, and residential properties. They patrol premises, perform access control, and investigate disturbances. They also monitor alarm systems and video surveillance cameras.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Credential/ID inspections.
• Alarm response (Time-sensitive).
• Incident response.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or security concerns.
• Visual vehicle inspections.
• Walking patrols, averaging 30 minutes.
• Vehicle patrols (If qualified).
• Access/Escort assistance.
• Loss Prevention.
• Perimeter fence inspections.
• Building occupancy inspections.
• Daily report completion (Daily Activity Report/Incident reports/Entry logs/etc.).
• Static access control posting.
• Key issuance/inventory.
• Maintain constant communication with the supervisor.
• Maintain detailed knowledge of all standard procedures/post-orders.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements (GATE).
• Permit authorized persons to enter the property, monitor entrances, and exits; and control/direct traffic (GATE).
• Meet applicable PPE standards of work location. May include hardhat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and cut-resistant gloves (Construction).
• Subject to recurring proficiency audits.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule. Nights and weekends required. No M-F Day shifts available.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Minimum 18 years or older.
• Must have a valid State Identification Card (ID).
• Read, speak, and understand English language fluently.
• Ability to prepare detailed written reports and fill out forms.
• Must be able to pass all training and obtain required certifications to include Unarmed DCJS License, First Aid, and CPR.
• Successfully pass criminal checks.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are 24/7.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.
