UNARMED SECURITY OFFICER
POSITION SUMMARY
Unarmed security officers maintain a safe and secure environment at businesses, organizations, and residential properties. They patrol premises, perform access control, and investigate disturbances. They also monitor alarm systems and video surveillance cameras.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Credential/ID inspections.
- Alarm response (Time-sensitive).
- Incident response.
- Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or security concerns.
- Visual vehicle inspections.
- Walking patrols, averaging 30 minutes.
- Vehicle patrols (If qualified).
- Access/Escort assistance.
- Loss Prevention.
- Perimeter fence inspections.
- Building occupancy inspections.
- Daily report completion (Daily Activity Report/Incident reports/Entry logs/etc.).
- Static access control posting.
- Key issuance/inventory.
- Maintain constant communication with the supervisor.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of all standard procedures/post-orders.
- Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements (GATE).
- Permit authorized persons to enter the property, monitor entrances, and exits; and control/direct traffic (GATE).
- Meet applicable PPE standards of work location. May include hardhat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and cut-resistant gloves (Construction).
- Subject to recurring proficiency audits.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule. Nights and weekends required. No M-F Day shifts available.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Minimum 18 years or older.
- Must have a valid State Identification Card (ID).
- Read, speak, and understand English language fluently.
- Ability to prepare detailed written reports and fill out forms.
- Must be able to pass all training and obtain required certifications to include Unarmed DCJS License, First Aid, and CPR.
- Successfully pass criminal checks.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are 24/7.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.
