IXO is seeking specialists to evaluate data-engineering reasoning in production pipelines. You will review SQL, Python and pipeline designs across ingestion, transformation, streaming and storage, and assess Spark, Kafka, Airflow or dbt usage for reliability and data quality.

You will develop realistic technical problems with verifiable solutions. Regional eligibility covers the United Kingdom with remote assignments by agreement.

IXO is engaging specialists to evaluate data-engineering reasoning grounded in production pipelines. Your contribution is technical work: make the reasoning inspectable, identify substantive errors and provide evidence that supports a reliable assessment.

Work you will do

• Review SQL, Python and pipeline designs across ingestion, transformation, streaming and storage.
• Evaluate the use of tools such as Spark, Kafka, Airflow or dbt where relevant, identifying reproducibility, reliability and data-quality failures.
• Develop realistic technical problems and document reference solutions, assumptions and verification steps.

Required background and routes

• UK work authorization and hands-on ownership of production data pipelines; SQL and Python are central skills.
• Experience across ingestion/transformation, orchestration, warehouse design or streaming using a relevant stack such as dbt, Airflow, Kafka, Spark, Databricks, BigQuery or Snowflake on AWS, Azure or GCP.

Deliverables

Submit the completed technical artifact or assessment with its supporting evidence, explicit assumptions, reproducible checks where applicable, and concise reasons for each material judgment. Address review findings within the agreed scope.

Location and schedule

Regional eligibility: United Kingdom. Remote assignments are scheduled by agreement, with no guaranteed weekly volume. Availability planning can include 40 hours per week depending on the track. IXO confirms the applicable timing before work.

Pay and working terms

$150 $210/hr USD. The agreed hourly rate, scope, schedule and acceptance criteria are confirmed before work starts. Applying does not guarantee an assignment.
