A leading engineering staffing provider is seeking a skilled UFR NDT & AUT Engineer for a substantial role in a major project. The engineer will oversee and ensure that all non-destructive testing practices meet stringent compliance standards. Candidates should possess a relevant engineering degree and substantial experience in offshore oil and gas projects.

Qualifications

  • 10-15 years in Oil & Gas offshore/subsea projects.
  • At least 5 years in a similar position.
  • Proven field experience specializing in NDE, especially AUT.

Description du poste

Position: UFR NDT & AUT Engineer
Location: Paris, France
Status: Residential
Start date: July 2025
Duration: 12 months renewable, up to fabrication delivered with the possibility to renew up to early 2028.

The UFR NDT & AUT Engineer will ensure, during detailed engineering, procurement, and construction phases, that all deliverables and documents (both internal and external) related to the NDT & AUT activities are timely issued and fit for purpose. They will ensure compliance of Contractors' deliverables with Company H3SE requirements, specifications, applicable codes and standards, and best engineering practices. The engineer will review deviations to Company specifications or deviation requests/technical queries.

The service holder will participate in managing discipline-related engineering interfaces with other concerned disciplines/packages. They will be responsible for monitoring the engineering of the disciplines and owning the subject. Effective liaising with other specialists of the UFR team will be essential to ensure work consistency. The service holder reports to the UFR Technical Lead.

Activities
  1. Promote safety culture: Lead by example to ensure team members and colleagues adhere to safety and ethical practices.
  2. Ensure safe working practices: Guarantee compliance during activities and interfaces.
  3. Motivate and meet project targets: Establish and manage activities with a focus on project goals.
  4. Promote innovation and optimization: Seek cost savings without compromising QHSE objectives.
  5. Maintain communication: Keep Technical Leader and relevant parties informed about ongoing activities.
  6. Manage engineering activities: Oversee contractor engineering related to UFR NDT, including vendor and yard activities.
  7. Monitor AUT process validation: Conduct missions to oversee progress, especially in PLOIETSI, Romania.
  8. Review welding documentation: Assist in reviewing welding activities as needed.
  9. Control NDT activities: Monitor and control NDT across contractors, subcontractors, and vendors, mainly in Italy.
  10. Witness inspections: Witness AUT/PAUT inspections and liaise with yard inspectors.
  11. Review special processes: Approve processes related to NDT disciplines, including AUT, PAUT, and digital radiography.
  12. Resolve discipline issues: Participate in resolving problems during execution, review deviations, and update documentation.
  13. Supervise engineering documentation: Review technical documents to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and schedule.
  14. Identify design issues: Highlight unsafe or non-compliant designs and constructability issues.
  15. Interface with other disciplines: Collaborate on engineering, procurement, and constructability matters to ensure consistency.
  16. Troubleshoot and support: Assist company representatives at fabrication sites and resolve discipline-related problems during execution.
  17. Reporting: Provide timely progress and concern reports, and anticipate problems.
  18. Maintain confidentiality: Protect all discipline-related documentation.
  19. Lessons learned: Gather feedback and share insights with relevant teams.
  20. Offshore follow-up: Support AUT inspections of flowline girth welds and tie-ins, review UT/PAUT scans.
  21. Training: Provide offshore AUT inspector training for CPY.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 10-15 years in Oil & Gas offshore/subsea projects.
  • At least 5 years in a similar position.
  • Engineering degree/MSc or equivalent.
  • Specialization in NDE with focus on AUT on carbon steel, proven field experience.
  • English mandatory.
Other Observations
  • ASNT Level III AUT and minimum LII RT are essential.
  • Minimum LII PT, LII MPI, Radiographic Interpretation, Senior Inspector are essential.
  • Experience managing contractor AUT qualification for offshore pipelines is essential.
  • Supervising NDT including AUT qualification is highly desirable.
  • Good organization, communication, and motivational skills required.
  • Worldwide missions expected due to spread of manufacturing sites and yards.
