Description du poste

Position: UFR NDT & AUT Engineer
Location: Paris, France
Status: Residential
Start date: July 2025
Duration: 12 months renewable, up to fabrication delivered with the possibility to renew up to early 2028.

The UFR NDT & AUT Engineer will ensure, during detailed engineering, procurement, and construction phases, that all deliverables and documents related to the NDT & AUT activities are timely issued and fit for purpose. They will ensure compliance of Contractors' deliverables with Company H3SE requirements, specifications, applicable codes, standards, and project specifications. Responsibilities include reviewing deviations to Company specifications or deviation requests/technical queries.

The service holder will participate in managing engineering interfaces with other disciplines, monitor the engineering of the disciplines, and liaise with other specialists to ensure consistency of work. The service holder reports to the UFR Technical Lead.

Activities
  1. Promote safety culture within the project and lead by example.
  2. Ensure safe and ethical working practices are followed.
  3. Establish and manage activities motivating counterparts to meet project targets.
  4. Promote innovation and seek optimization and savings without compromising QHSE objectives.
  5. Keep the Technical Leader and relevant parties informed about ongoing activities.
  6. Manage CONTRACTOR engineering related to UFR NDT, including vendor and yard activities.
  7. Monitor AUT process validation at CONTRACTOR and SUBCONTRACTOR premises, especially in PLOIETSI, Romania.
  8. Assist in reviewing welding documentation and activities.
  9. Oversee NDT activities within UFR package, liaising with vendors and subcontractors.
  10. Witness AUT/PAUT inspections and liaise with yard inspectors.
  11. Review and approve 'Special Processes' related to NDT.
  12. Participate in resolving discipline-related problems during execution, review deviation requests, and update documentation.
  13. Supervise detailed engineering documentation for compliance and schedule adherence.
  14. Highlight unsafe designs, deviations, and constructability issues.
  15. Interface with other SURF specialists on engineering, procurement, and constructability matters.
  16. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving discipline problems during execution.
  17. Report progress and concerns timely to Package Leaders.
  18. Maintain confidentiality of all discipline-related documentation.
  19. Gather lessons learned and provide feedback to relevant leaders.
  20. Support offshore AUT inspection follow-up and provide training for offshore AUT inspectors.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 10-15 years in Oil & Gas offshore/subsea projects.
  • Approximately 5 years in a similar position.
  • Engineering degree/MSc or equivalent.
  • Specialized in NDE with focus on AUT on carbon steel, with proven field experience.
  • English mandatory.
Other Observations
  • ASNT Level III AUT and minimum LII RT: Essential.
  • ASNT minimum LII PT, LII MPI, Radiographic Interpretation, Senior Inspector: Essential.
  • Experience managing Contractor AUT Qualification for offshore pipelines: Essential.
  • Supervising NDT including AUT Qualification: Highly desirable.
  • Good organization and communication skills.
  • Willingness to undertake worldwide missions.
  • Motivational skills, good planning, and budget respect.
