dsm-firmenich, Paris, is offering a final-year internship for a Trainee Data Scientist / Industrial Trainee Data Analyst in its Laboratory Excellence group. The role focuses on collecting, cleaning, and harmonizing data from lab systems, then building dashboards, reports, and KPIs to monitor performance.

You will perform exploratory analyses, contribute to data modelling, validate data quality, and document methodologies while collaborating with lab, operational, and digital teams to translate

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in the final year of a Master's degree (Master 2) in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
• Looking for a final-year internship (4 to 6 months).
• Knowledge of Python, SQL, or other data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar is a plus.
• Understanding of statistics and data analysis methodologies.
• Interest in industrial environments and digital transformation.
• Previous internship, academic project, or first experience in data analytics is appreciated but not required.

Responsabilités

• Document analytical methodologies, datasets, and data flows to ensure traceability and facilitate knowledge sharing.

• Assist in preparing presentations and communication materials to share insights and recommendations.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of digital laboratory tools, dashboards, and reporting capabilities.

Laboratory Excellence is a global organization within the Perfumery & B (P&B) business unit of dsm-firmenich.

As part of initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, supporting fragrance formula reconstitution, and reducing sample delivery lead times across P&B commercial laboratories, you will:

• Support the collection, cleaning, and harmonization of data from laboratory systems such as LIMS, robotics platforms, instruments, and other digital applications.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and KPIs to monitor laboratory performance.
• Perform exploratory and diagnostic analyses to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for operational improvement.
• Contribute to data modelling and analytical projects under the guidance of experienced team members.
• Participate in data quality monitoring activities and support the implementation of validation checks and reporting mechanisms.
• Document analytical methodologies, datasets, and data flows to ensure traceability and facilitate knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with laboratory, operational, and digital teams to understand business needs and support analytical initiatives.
• Assist in preparing presentations and communication materials to share insights and recommendations.
