You’ll take part in the full process—from pattern and yarn structure design to weaving plans, production coordination, and quality control.
You’ll also explore Southeast Asian craftsmanship and cultural elements, and help translate them into contemporary textile designs.

Requirements:
Educational background in textile design, yarn development, materials engineering, fashion design, or related fields
Minimum 3 years of experience in fabric design, yarn development, or textile production, with a strong focus on synthetic fiber blends and woven fabrics
Familiar with the workflow of weaving mills and yarn suppliers; experienced in yarn-to-fabric development
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for pattern design
Basic knowledge of weaving design software (e.g., NedGraphics, Pointcarré) is a plus
Strong cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to integrate aesthetic, commercial, and technical considerations

Key Responsibilities:
Pattern & Collection Design
Design textile patterns and weave structures based on the brand’s visual direction and seasonal themes.
Collaborate with hand-drawing illustrators to translate artwork into weavable or printable textile patterns.
Prepare complete technical documentation for each pattern, including weave drafts, color separations, repeat units, dimensions, and yarn recommendations.
Yarn & Fabric Development (Specializing in Synthetics)
Skilled in fiber blending, synthetic yarn selection, and hand-feel control.
Develop yarn samples by adjusting composition, count, and twist.
Collaborate with spinners to create fancy or textured yarns and understand their impact on weaving and finishing.
Weaving Development & Fabric Finishing
Proficient in woven structure design; adjust warp/weft density to control hand-feel, elasticity, drape, and texture
Develop weaving structures such as dobby, leno, and jacquard based on design needs.
Experienced in reed plan, shrinkage estimation, heat setting, and post-finishing (e.g., calendaring, brushing, washing). Oversee sampling and production timelines; troubleshoot technical issues and optimize fabric performance
Quality Control & Shipment
Inspect fabrics for defects, density accuracy, color consistency, shrinkage, and structural stability.
Define fabric quality standards and acceptance criteria;
document test results.
Support swatch packaging, labeling, and outbound quality checks.

Self-driven curiosity toward fabric hand feel and cultural textile textures
Interest or hands-on experience with Southeast Asian craft traditions (e.g., batik dyeing, handloom weaving, natural dye techniques), and a willingness to engage in cross-cultural collaboration
On-site sampling experience, ability to communicate in English or local languages, and collaborate directly with regional artisans
