Candidate Profile

Takara Bio is seeking to recruit an experienced Territory Manager with strong Life Science sales experience and a background in life science research.

Territory Managers are expected to have excellent communication and relationship-building skills. The individual should be highly motivated to meet and exceed targets, well organized, skilled at managing time effectively, a team player, and able to deliver under pressure. They should also be proficient in virtual sales meeting tools, office-based computer packages (especially Excel), and experienced in using and reporting on Sales Force and revenue data.

Takara expects their Territory Managers to be proactive 'sales hunters' who can find new business and maintain/grow existing business. Therefore, the candidate should have a proven track record of new business development.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the sales of the company’s products within Key Academic, Hospital, Pharma, Biotech, and Government accounts, providing a high level of personal service at all times.
  • Achieve sales targets by maintaining existing sales levels and growing sales in existing and new accounts.
  • Prospect and map new accounts and customers, identifying relevant customers for new product launches.
  • Maintain high technical knowledge of Takara products and position against competitors.
  • Implement and execute corporate sales and marketing strategies effectively.
  • Use effective selling techniques, including questioning strategies, value propositions, and closing statements.
  • Communicate potential opportunities with the Head of Sales and Product Managers by entering relevant information into Sales Force.
  • Provide timely communication and follow-up to customers, consistently meeting their expectations.
  • Collaborate with RSM, European Sales Manager, Product Managers, and R&D for presentations, product demonstrations, and customer visits.
  • Attend trade shows and vendor meetings as required.
  • Provide market and competitive intelligence to the organization.
  • Analyze accounts, competition, and product mix to identify sales growth opportunities and execute plans accordingly.
  • Contribute to the business plan to increase revenue within the territory.

General Duties & Responsibilities

  • Communicate technical details clearly with customers and colleagues.
  • Recognize problems and suggest new approaches for solutions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Profile

Education Requirement: Minimum MSc or PhD in Cell, Molecular Biology, or related life science discipline.

Experience Requirement (minimum):

  • Some sales experience desirable.
  • Lab experience in RNA-seq or DNA-seq library prep desirable.
  • Minimum 2 years lab bench experience in Cell, Molecular Biology, or related area.
  • Clean and Full Driving License.
