A leading company in the energy sector is seeking a Tender and Project Purchasing Manager to oversee purchasing activities for major projects. The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant field and extensive experience in project purchasing, particularly in renewables or oil & gas. Responsibilities include managing RFQs, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with procurement plans. Strong negotiation and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
The Tender & Project Purchasing team is a diverse and multicultural team with members in Norway, UK, France, and the USA. The team manages all purchasing activities in line with Nexans procedures throughout tenders and projects.
The UK Team, part of this group, supports projects in the UK, based in Edinburgh, reporting to the UK Team Lead. Nexans has secured major projects in the UK (2024-2028) involving export cable manufacturing, installation, and subcontract packages for offshore and onshore civil works. The Tender and Project Purchasing Manager will oversee these from RFQ to award, including procurement of minor goods and services.
Ideal candidates will hold a Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain, with 7+ years’ experience in project purchasing within renewables, energy, or oil & gas sectors. Ambition, multitasking, prioritization, effective communication, and efficiency are essential qualities.
You will be responsible for all project purchasing activities for specific tenders or projects, supporting company objectives. The role involves commercial management and contractual understanding, with an emphasis on promoting Quality and HSE.
