Job Description:

Under the hierarchical authority of the Director of Training, the person will ensure good coordination of practical work (TP) at the National School of Chemistry:

  1. Preparation of practical work
  • Prepare and control chemical solutions and samples for physico-chemical analyses (titration, ACD, HPLC, optical spectroscopy, etc.);
  • Develop technical protocols to optimize laboratory device results (HPLC, CI, etc.);
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene and safety rules;
  • Maintain a laboratory notebook.
  • During practical work
    • Participate in supervising students (demonstrations for equipment use);
    • Provide technical assistance to teachers during TP;
    • Be responsible for and train the analysis equipment park (chromatography, differential calorimetric analysis, HPLC, etc.);
    • Manage schedules.
  • Equipment
    • Write usage and maintenance protocols for new and existing equipment;
    • Diagnose and address first-level anomalies in collaboration with technical service providers;
    • Perform routine maintenance.
  • Administrative tasks
    • Participate in organizing TP (using the OASIS platform, posting, computerized collection and synthesis of grades);
    • Manage supplies: products, materials, solvents;
    • Control chemical waste management and disposal;
    • Monitor the training budget (equipment and operation);
    • Handle administrative and financial management (tenders, orders, follow-up).
  • Cross-disciplinary activities
    • Advise students on transdisciplinary projects;
    • Host middle school students on discovery internships;
    • Introduce TIPE students (preparatory classes) to equipment use for their projects;
    • Participate in Polytechnique competitions (ordering, procurement management, equipment maintenance and installation, overall organization);
    • Participate in the school's science festival;
    • Support the organic chemistry TP department.
