Overview

Role Overview

Lallemand Biofuels & Distilled Spirits is looking for a European Sales Manager who will be responsible for driving sales and providing expert technical support for LBDS products—including yeast, nutrients, enzymes, and process aids—across the biofuels and distilled spirits sectors in Western Europe. This role combines commercial strategy with hands-on technical engagement, working closely with customers to optimize production processes and ensure product performance. The manager will also contribute to marketing initiatives, lead training sessions, participate in industry events, and support business development efforts in collaboration with regional and global teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with customers in the distilled spirits and biofuels industries
  • Sell fermentation inputs including yeast, nutrients, enzymes, and antimicrobials, providing technical support for their application
  • Participate in product trials, assisting with planning, execution, and analysis
  • Write technical reports summarizing trial results, product performance, and customer feedback
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and execute market strategies
  • Provide training and education to customers on product usage and process optimization
  • Identify customer needs and propose tailored solutions that align with their production goals
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions
  • Support brand promotion and product positioning in the market
  • Perform all other duties related to sales, technical support, and product application
Technical skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, or a related technical field (Master’s degree is a strong plus)
  • 5+ years of professional experience in technical or commercial roles
  • Fluency in English and French is required; additional languages are a plus

An asset

  • Experience in the biofuels or distilled spirits industries is highly valued
  • Understanding of basic financial concepts, such as budgeting and margin analysis
