RTE-International is seeking a senior power systems specialist to lead the technical delivery of HVDC/FACTS projects from tender through study execution to commissioning support in France. Based at our Lyon/Jonage center, you will coordinate study work packages, manage multi-vendor interfaces, and chair design reviews with clients and TSOs, while mentoring engineers.

Lead the technical delivery of several HVDC and FACTS projects in parallel, from tender through study execution to commissioning support.
Act as technical authority and main point of contact for clients across the assigned portfolio.
Plan and coordinate study work packages within the engineering team: scope, assumptions, resources, milestones and deliverables.
Secure the quality, consistency and timeliness of deliverables through structured review gates and technical validation.
Anticipate and manage technical risks and interfaces (multi-vendor, multi-terminal, TSO requirements), escalating when required.
Contribute to business development: identify opportunities, shape technical offers, lead the technical part of tenders and represent the company with clients.
Support and coach the engineers on the projects, and feed lessons learned back into methods, tools and know-how.
Translate client needs and grid code requirements into a clear technical scope and a realistic study programme.
Coordinate the interfaces between engineering teams, clients, TSOs, converter vendors and partners.
Chair technical meetings, design reviews and workshops, and present results and recommendations to client management.
Monitor progress, workload and deliverable status across the portfolio, and report to project and programme management.
Support proposals and tenders with technical strategy, workload estimation, differentiators and risk assessment.
Represent the company at industry events, conferences and working groups to strengthen market visibility.
Position based at our specialized engineering centre in Lyon/Jonage (69), France.

Split between multi-project technical leadership and client-facing / business development activities.

8+ years of professional experience in the power systems industry, including significant exposure to HVDC, FACTS or the grid connection of large renewable plants.
Proven experience coordinating technical teams and deliverables on complex, multi-stakeholder projects, as project manager, deputy project manager, study manager or technical lead.
Ability to run several projects in parallel and to arbitrate between priorities, resources and deadlines.
Solid technical background in power system studies (EMT, harmonic, dynamic stability): enough depth to challenge assumptions, review results and defend them, without hands-on simulation being the daily task.
Good understanding of converter technology (LCC, VSC/MMC), control and protection, and system integration and interoperability challenges.
Confidence at the client interface: negotiation of technical scope, change management and steering committees.
Experience in tendering and proposal preparation, with a genuine appetite for business development.
Knowledge of industry standards, regulatory requirements and grid codes relevant to HVDC and renewable integration.
(Preferred) Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, IPMA) or equivalent structured project management experience.
(Preferred) Experience working in an international, multicultural project environment.
Engineering degree or Masters (MSc - Master of Science) in electrical or power engineering.
Doctorate (PhD - Doctor of Philosophy) or complementary project management / business training appreciated.
