Mistral AI seeks a Technical Lead, Applied AI to steer technical strategy and delivery of enterprise AI solutions. You will guide project teams of Applied AI Engineers, ensuring robust, scalable deployments and alignment with our product roadmap.

You will act as the primary technical contact for strategic customers, bridging research, product, and engineering to shape solutions from pre-sales through post-implementation, while mentoring junior engineers and driving innovation.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English.
• PhD or Master’s in AI/ML/CS or related field.
• 7+ years in AI/ML with at least 2+ years in technical leadership roles.
• Proven track record leading teams to deliver complex AI projects.
• Deep expertise in fine-tuning LLMs, advanced RAG, agentic systems, NLP at scale.
• Proficient in Python, PyTorch and modern AI frameworks (LangChain, Hugging Face); cloud platforms and MLOps experience a plus.
• Strong software engineering skills including API design, backend/full-stack development, and system architecture.
• Excellent technical communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Mentoring and growing technical talent in fast-paced environments.

Responsabilités

• Deliver as an IC on critical code for complex AI projects.
• Lead Applied AI Engineer teams with mentorship and best practices.
• Lead pre-sales discussions translating requirements into solutions.
• Design and oversee complex AI systems including fine-tuning, RAG, agentic workflows, and custom LLM apps.
• Drive innovation by evaluating new tools and methodologies for deployment.
• Collaborate with product, research, and engineering to integrate customer feedback.
