H.Essers France is seeking a Team Manager Accounting to lead a local finance team and advance the accounting function across GL, AP and AR. You will ensure accurate closings, robust reporting to Group Finance, and strict compliance with VAT and local tax obligations.

The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on accounting and payroll duties in a multinational environment. You will partner with HQ Finance, manage external auditors and tax advisors, and drive digitalization of processes

Competenze

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, accounting or related field.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience, ideally in international or multi-entity settings.
• Proven people management, coaching and development skills.
• Solid knowledge of French accounting principles (French GAAP).
• Hands-on experience with statutory audits, financial reporting and regulatory compliance in France.
• Strategic but hands-on, able to contribute to accounting and payroll controlling when needed.
• Analytical, detail-oriented and capable of multi-priority management.
• Fluent French with professional English for international collaboration.

YOUR CHALLENGES

As Team Manager Accounting you will manage a local team (± 4 FTE) and drive the further professionalization of processes, reporting, and compliance. At the same time, you actively contribute to day-to-day accounting activities and act as the key link between the French entities and the Group Finance team.

What does this mean concretely?

Team & Organization

• Lead, coach, and develop the local finance team (AP, AR, GL)

• Structure and optimize roles, processes, and responsibilities

• Build a high-performing and reliable finance organization

Accounting & Operations

• Actively contribute to accounting activities (GL, closings, complex entries)

• Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual closings

• Ensure accuracy and quality of financial data

• Support AP, AR, and invoicing activities

• Review payroll entries, provisions, and reconciliations

Reporting & Group Integration

• Ensure timely and accurate monthly reporting to the Group

• Implement Group guidelines, accounting policies, and internal controls

• Key contact for HQ Finance (consolidation, controlling, audit)

• Support budgeting and forecasting processes

Compliance & Tax

• Responsible for VAT filings, corporate income tax, and local obligations

• Ensure full compliance with local statutory requirements

• Main point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and consultants

Systems & Processes

• Play an active role in the implementation and optimization of financial systems

• Drive digitalization and standardization of processes

• Identify and implement efficiency improvements

Stakeholder Management

• Manage relationships with banks, auditors and external partners

• Act as a sparring partner for local management and Group Finance

YOUR TALENTS

• You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field

• You bring at least 7 to 10 years of relevant experience, preferably within an international, multi-entity, or group environment

• You have proven people management skills and enjoy coaching, motivating, and developing a team

• You possess a solid understanding of French accounting principles (French GAAP) and are comfortable operating in a complex financial environment

• You have hands-on experience with statutory audits, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance requirements in France

• You combine a strategic mindset with a pragmatic, hands-on approach and are willing to actively contribute to accounting activities and payroll controlling when needed

• You are analytical, detail-oriented, and able to maintain accuracy while managing multiple priorities

• You communicate fluently in French and have a professional level of English, allowing you to collaborate effectively in an international setting
