Jobtailor is seeking an experienced on-site team lead for technical annotation projects in Paris. You will coordinate daily tasks, shifts, and performance to ensure timely completion of work with high quality.

You will oversee calibration sessions, quality metrics, and liaison with the client’s quality and engineering teams, while training and developing annotators and maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and motivate an on‑site team of annotators working on technical annotation, owning daily team coordination and overall performance.
• Run daily operations: task progress and completion tracking, shift coordination, and follow‑through so that assigned work is finished and nothing falls through the gaps.
• Own annotation quality end‑to‑end: make sure the standard operating procedures and guidelines are followed, run calibration sessions and targeted refresher trainings, monitor acceptance and rejection rates against targets, and lead root‑cause analysis and corrective actions on recurring errors.
• Act as the operational point of contact with the client's quality and engineering teams: align on guidelines and specifications, manage the rework loop, and elevate ambiguities or contradictions with clear, documented evidence.
• Design, implement and maintain daily quality and productivity tracking and reporting, and provide clear, honest status to the client and DataForce’s program management team.
• Interview, test, onboard, train, coach, and develop annotators, and manage individual performance and feedback.
• Keep the team aligned as tools, guidelines, and the rating scale evolve, translating changes into clear and consistent instructions across shifts.
• Ensure full adherence to confidentiality and data handling requirements.
• Coordinate internally with DataForce’s operations and account management team to continuously improve our client services and experience.

Requirements

• Min. 6 months of proven people‑management or team‑lead experience.
• Machine learning and data annotation background: understanding complex annotation workflows, reasoning evaluation, rubric evaluation, agentic workflows labeling tools, quality frameworks and metrics, and the role of labeled data in the machine‑learning lifecycle.
• Excellent attention to detail and a structured, quality‑first approach.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, comfortable running daily operations and liaising with technical client stakeholders.
• Full professional proficiency in English, the working language of the project.
• French knowledge is a strong advantage.
• Eligibility to work full‑time, on‑site, in Paris.
• Master’s or Bachelor’s in AI, Machine Learning, Engineering, Computational Linguistics or other related field.
• Coding knowledge, for example Python, for scripting, data handling, quality checks, or light automation.
• Experience with computer‑vision, video, or robotics annotation.
• Familiarity with QC review loops and reviewer calibration.
• Proficiency in French.
• Experience reporting quality and productivity metrics through spreadsheets or dashboards.
