Job Description:

This PhD study is part of an ANR project entitled ‘Fluox2C’, involving three laboratories: ICR CNRS-Aix-Marseille University, UVE IRD-INSERM-Aix-Marseille University, and ICOA CNRS-Orléans University.

In recent years, several Enteroviruses have emerged as pathogens of increasing public health concern, against which no licensed antiviral therapy exists. The objective of the ‘Fluox2C’ project is to develop potent broad-spectrum antivirals to treat Enterovirus infections and related severe disorders. This research aims to lay the foundation for a new antiviral strategy that specifically targets the 2C protein of Enteroviruses, a critical component in viral replication. The approach involves designing and synthesizing novel antivirals with original modes of action.
