Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a passionate High Intensity CBT Therapist to join the Talking Therapies service. The role focuses on delivering NICE-guided CBT to adults with anxiety and depression within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

This hybrid position requires in-person work in North and East Cornwall bases with some remote work, regular supervision, and access to ongoing professional development. The closing date is 28 September 2026.

Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly NHS Talking Therapies Service is seeking enthusiastic and motivated High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapists to join our friendly, supportive and innovative service. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well-established team dedicated to delivering high-quality, evidence-based psychological therapies to adults experiencing common mental health difficulties.

As a High Intensity CBT Therapist, you will:

Deliver high-quality CBT interventions in accordance with NICE guidance.

Work with clients presenting with depression, anxiety disorders and complex co-morbid presentations.

Contribute to a culture of clinical excellence, learning and innovation.

Receive regular clinical and case management supervision.

Access ongoing professional development opportunities, including specialist training pathways.

Work within a supportive multidisciplinary team committed to staff wellbeing.

Main duties of the job

Deliver high intensity, evidence-based CBT interventions in line with NICE guidelines. Undertake comprehensive psychological assessments and develop tailored treatment plans. Provide advice and consultation on psychological care to non-CBT colleagues and carers. Work collaboratively across all sectors of care, adhering to professional standards and team policies. Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service development initiatives.

This is a hybrid working position and will require the post holder to work in person with patients in our North and East Cornwall bases as well as some time working remotely from home.

Person Specification

Education / Qualifications and Relevant Experience

• Post Graduate Diploma in Psychological Therapies Practice (High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) or equivalent
• BABCP accredited
• Good record of Continuing Professional Development and willingness to continue this
• Successfully completed Talking Therapies HI supervisor training or equivalent
• Formal training in and experience of providing clinical supervision

Skills and Aptitude

• Demonstrate experience of working in mental health settings with clients who present with a range of mental health issues and degrees of complexity in particular anxiety & depression.
• Ability to meet agreed/specified service targets by management of own caseload and time
• Ability to make judgements involving complex facts or situations, ability to exercise judgement in identifying and assessing complicated events or problems
