Responsabilités

• Intégrer de nouvelles offres d'instances de virtualisation pour divers matériels.
• Automatiser et améliorer le processus de déploiement d'hyperviseurs.
• Écrire et maintenir des outils pour gérer les serveurs physiques à grande échelle.

Description du poste

Scaleway is looking for an Instances Design & Deployment Engineer to join our Instances team. Your main mission will be to integrate new virtualization instances offers for a variety of hardware technologies, such as CPU or GPU, targeting our customers.

Reporting to our Engineering Manager, Clément LAFORET, you will utilise your mixed background in low-level software engineering and in systems administration

• Experience with GNU Linux systems
• Knowledge of the QEMU and KVM virtualization technologies
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Continuous Deployment
• Technical documentation writing skills
• Proven know-how in troubleshooting both hardware and kernel issues
• Experience with Layer 2 & 3 networking
• Experience with Python programming and bash scripting
• Experience with monitoring systems
• A great attitude and desire to collaborate with other engineering teams
• Very good command of English
• Experience writing tools to manage physical servers at scale
• Love of all things automation
• Experience profiling hardware configuration performance
• Experience with relational databases
• Knowledge of one cloud platform and related use-cases
• Experience as an OSS contributor or maintainer
• Work closely with Product Managers and Hardware Research & Development to regularly integrate new hardware products to our user-facing fleet of hypervisors.
• Develop, test and deliver the tooling used to deploy hypervisors in an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) manner
• Automate, document and continuously improve the deployment process
• Benchmark and monitor performance of our instances against our competitors'

• Secrets management : Vault
• Source code management : Git
• Software repositories : Gitlab, Nexus
• Communication : Jira, Confluence, Slack

This position can be either :

• Based in our offices in Paris or Lille (France), 100% fully remote is possible
• Fully remote worldwide
