Responsibilities
- The scope of the LIFEX1 ESR244 release includes the following features:
- Replacement of GEO-2 Navigation Land Earth Station (NLES) Type G2 by Navigation Land Earth Station (NLES) Type G3
- Ranging Integrity Monitoring Station (RIMS) Type A Obsolescence: Automatic Gain Control SW upgrade at Receiver level and qualification at Sub-System and System level.
- Telecommunications Wide Area Network (TWAN)/ENMA update for setting IP addresses available for dual running (NLES/RIMS).
- 1st step of the TWAN obsolescence resolution plan (the complete plan being to switch from the current TWAN G2 to a completely new network)
- Reconciliation of all modifications of the RIMS performed by ESP (e.g. Gölbaşi RIMS site move) in the system baseline.
- Ranging Integrity Monitoring Station (RIMS) Type C G2 qualified as part of the V242B will progressively replace all RIMS Type C with a new optimised RIMS C G2 network. It is currently planned that ESSP will perform such replacement in Egilsstadir and Kirkenes during S2-2024. ESR244 will manage the reconciliation of such swaps into the qualified baseline.
- Introduction of new RIMS site in Ermis (Cyprus).
- Correction of ONCRs.
- Security improvements.
- The scope of the LIFEX1 ESR245 release includes the following features:
- Reshuffling of RIMS Type C / RIMS Type C G2 network (removal of RIMS-C from ESR 245 configuration) and system requalification
- Continuation of the TWAN obsolescence resolution plan
- Introduction of new RIMS sites in Paphos (Cyprus) and Seville (Spain).
- Correction of ONCRs.
- Security improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Knowledge of ESA standards, EGNOS programme, or GNSS systems is highly desirable.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in GNSS infrastructure deployment, system upgrades, or technical coordination within aerospace or telecommunications sectors.
- Experience with Navigation Land Earth Stations (NLES), Ranging Integrity Monitoring Stations (RIMS), and Telecommunications Wide Area Networks (TWAN).
- Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
