Job summary

NXP Semiconductors NV in Toulouse seeks a System and Hardware Safety Architect to lead safety concepts across automotive and industrial platforms. You will drive ISO 26262-compliant architectures, perform safety analyses, and mentor teams on best practices in functional safety.

You will focus on 48V energy distribution, X-by-Wire concepts, and HW/SW integration challenges, shaping roadmaps and customer collateral while collaborating with cross-functional groups to deliver safe, reliable systems.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering with 10+ years of experience.
• Strong experience in Functional Safety ISO 26262 and safety architecture.
• Experience with automotive Tier 1/2 HW safety development and power electronics.
• Experience with PMIC, efuse, DC/DC, gate drivers in automotive ECUs.

Responsibilities

• Define System, Technical, and Hardware Safety Concepts for automotive/industrial reference designs.
• Run safety analyses (FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, DFA) and safety assessments.
• Analyze IC safety docs to derive integration requirements and HSIs.
• Develop safety manuals, application notes, and customer-facing safety collateral.
• Support hardware/software integration teams in implementing safety mechanisms.
• Contribute to demonstrations and customer-facing safety collateral.
• Engage with customers to support integration of safety-enabled technologies.
• Drive technical leadership and mentor engineers in safety architecture.
