Systems Architect – Fleet Management Systems

The Systems Architect for Fleet Management Systems is responsible for analyzing business and functional requirements, designing, and delivering new architectural solutions, as well as enhancing existing systems. The architect interprets functional requirements, defines the architecture, interfaces, and technical implementation. They also ensure effective communication and knowledge transfer from development partners, collaborating across multiple time zones and global teams.

Your missions:
Key Accountabilities:
  • Analyze and understand existing system functionalities and limitations, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Define technical implementation to ensure solutions are efficient, scalable, and aligned with product strategy. This includes maintaining high-level and detailed system design diagrams, defining dependencies and interfaces, ensuring compliance with safety requirements, and selecting appropriate technologies.
  • Break down solution designs into clear work packages for development teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight during system architecture, specification, and development, supporting design, bug resolution, and defect management.
  • Collaborate with development partners and distributed engineering teams for knowledge sharing and onboarding.
  • Represent the Autonomy Team in meetings with partners and customers.
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Opportunities for improvement are identified and documented with solutions proposed.
  • Deliverables meet scope, functionality, reliability, and cost objectives.
  • Work packages are clear, actionable, and understood by stakeholders.
  • Effective solutions and education are provided.
  • The team is fully briefed and informed of relevant updates.
  • Communication and knowledge transfer are effective across stakeholders.
  • Disputes and concerns are resolved or escalated promptly.
  • Feedback from operational and divisional stakeholders is positive.
  • Leadership and behavioral competencies are demonstrated.
Your profile:
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
  • At least 2 years of experience in system architecture design projects.
  • Experience with fleet management or autonomous haulage systems is highly desirable.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
Desirable qualifications:
  • Master of Engineering or postgraduate qualification in management and leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of agile methodologies.

Additional requirements include a deep understanding of software engineering principles, experience with complex system architectures, knowledge of System Engineering PLM, MBSE, MBD, ISO 26262, and experience with technologies such as C#.NET Core, ASP.NET Core, REST API, WebGL, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and databases like EventStoreDB and SQL Server. Excellent communication skills are essential.
