Anotech is seeking a Survey Engineer for a major offshore energy project in Europe. The role involves planning, installing, testing, and maintaining survey and positioning systems, including RTK GNSS and acoustic tools, with a 5 weeks on / 5 weeks off offshore rotation.

The successful candidate will ensure data reliability, comply with QHSE standards, and work with maritime crews, vendors, and internal teams. Minimum 5 years offshore survey experience and required certifications apply.

A major offshore energy infrastructure project is underway in Europe, contributing to the development of low-carbon and renewable energy solutions.

Position Overview

The Survey Engineer will be responsible for planning, installing, testing, and maintaining survey and positioning systems, including RTK GNSS and acoustic measurement tools. This role is based 100% offshore with a 5 weeks on / 5 weeks off rotation and involves working closely with maritime crews, third-party vendors, and internal teams to ensure the reliability of survey data and compliance with QHSE standards.

The mission is expected to last a minimum of 1 year, starting as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities

Survey & Positioning Systems Management

• Plan, install, and maintain surveying and positioning systems for offshore operations.
• Diagnose and repair equipment failures to minimize downtime.
• Supervise the mobilization and demobilization of survey systems onboard vessels.
• Ensure safe installation of systems and cabling to prevent hazards.

Data & Quality Control

• Perform quality control, analysis, and interpretation of survey data.
• Maintain calibration documentation and equipment failure logs.
• Generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for compliance.
• Keep accurate inventories of survey equipment, spare parts, and consumables.

Technical & Operational Support

• Provide technical support to project teams and coordinate with third-party vendors for DGNSS signals, survey systems, and software.
• Conduct land surveys using total stations and GNSS systems.
• Monitor seawater parameters to determine sound velocity for acoustic surveys.
• Maintain clear and precise online survey logs and operational journals.

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and QHSE standards.
• Participate in safety inductions and maintain valid certifications (e.g., GWO, BOSIET, CAEBS).

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 5 years in offshore survey operations or related fields.
• Education: Surveying/Topography background with offshore experience.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in SC4W software, GNSS systems, and total station.
• Certifications: BOSIET (OPITO), CAEBS, GWO (Global Wind Organisation), and a valid Medical Fitness Certificate.
• Language: Fluent in English (mandatory).
