Westinghouse Electric Company in Orsay is seeking a Supplier Quality Oversight Engineer to surveil supplier manufacturing activities, ensuring conformity with contractual requirements. The role is full-time and hybrid, reporting to the SQO Manager, based in Orsay.

You will witness welding and NDE activities, raise deviations, issue surveillance reports, and support the project team with supplier information. Travel 50–75% is required.

Qualifications

• Oversee supplier manufacturing activities to verify conformity with contract requirements.
• Raise deviations when requirements are not met using the surveillance template.
• Issue reports after each surveillance activity and review End of Manufacturing Reports.
• Issue quality releases (QR) prior to shipment of equipment.
• Willingness to travel between 50% and 75% of time.

Responsabilités

• Witness manufacturing activities such as welding, NDE, dimensional control and destructive testing per surveillance plan.
• Raise deviations to contractual requirements when non-conformities are found.
• Issue surveillance reports and review End of Manufacturing Reports.
• Release QR before shipment of equipment.
• Provide information on supplier events to the project team and supply chain.
• Act as back-up for SQO team when volumes peak or staff are on vacation.

About The Role

As a Supplier Quality Oversight Engineer you will perform the surveillance of the manufacturing operations performed by the supplier to assess the conformity of these operations according to the contractual requirements. This is a full-time job.

You will report to the Supplier Quality Oversight Manager and be located at Orsay. This is a hybrid position.

Main Responsibilities

• Witness the manufacturing activities such as welding, non-destructive examination, dimensional control, Destructive testing… based on the surveillance plan managed by the supply chain.
• Raise the deviation to contractual requirements in the dedicated template.
• Issue a report after each activity of surveillance performed.
• Review End of Manufacturing Reports.
• Issue quality release (QR) prior shipment of equipment.
• Perform unscheduled oversight based on lessons learned and weakness of supplier.
• Support supply chain and project team request and provide information on main event occurring at the supplier facility.
• Support the SQO team as a back-up when there are too many activities in parallel or when someone is in vacation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Egineering.
• 5+ years of experience as manufacturing inspector/surveillance engineer in the nuclear industry.
• Certification in NDE or welding (such as NF EN ISO 9712, CWI or similar).
• Knowledge of NDE, especially UT and RT, and welding activities.
• Knowledge of nuclear construction code/regulation (RCC-M, ASME, ESPN…)
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes for critical nuclear equipment.
• Willing to travel often (between 50 to 75% of your time)
