Job title: Supplier Monitoring Global Lead (Contract Obligations Management)

  • Location: Gentilly (France)

At Sanofi we chase the miracles of science to improve people’s lives. We are dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of the patients and families we serve, and we accomplish our goals through world-class research and with the compassion and commitment of our employees.

As we continue to transform the practice of medicine, the next chapter of Sanofi’s Play to Win strategy will require a focus on delivering transformation and simplification of our core processes, optimizing resource allocation and deployment to fuel business growth and investment in science.

To facilitate this transformation, the Business Operations Business Unit brings together pre-existing business service activities, and drives further expansion of centralized services at scale into a global unit, with a focus on driving simplification, efficiency, and productivity. It enables the delivery of best-in-class business support capabilities across the organization, incorporating and engaging disparate teams from across areas into new global Service Delivery Towers, such as Procurement Services to which this role reports.

The Supplier Monitoring Global Lead, in the Contract Obligations Management (COM) team, is a strategic leadership role overseeing the execution and continuous enhancement of Sanofi’s COM framework. This position provides direct management of COM Team Leads across multiple locations and serves as the primary escalation point for critical issues. The Global Lead is responsible for setting the end-to-end COM strategy, ensuring alignment with Sanofi’s Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) approach, and driving operational excellence through process improvements, stakeholder collaboration, and risk mitigation initiatives. This role requires a high level of autonomy, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration to address global challenges, implement structural improvements, and provide senior-level oversight of Sanofi’s contract obligations management function

About the Job

Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Design with the Head of COMA and execute the global COM strategy, ensuring alignment with Sanofi’s SRM strategy and procurement objectives
  • Lead the adoption and integration of AI-powered tools and advanced analytics to enhance contract monitoring, compliance, and performance evaluation
  • Develop and implement initiatives to improve supplier segmentation for COM inclusion, addressing contractual limitations, existing processes, and available data
  • Navigate high levels of ambiguity to define clear processes for identifying in-scope suppliers, contract owners, obligation owners, and supporting data sources
  • Identify and translate operational challenges (e.g., contract scoping issues, process adherence gaps, ownership ambiguities, data inconsistencies) into actionable end-to-end improvement initiatives and roadmap proposals

2. Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management

  • Act as a key COM interface with Procurement, Legal, Business, and Global Process Owners (GPOs) to raise awareness of COM activities, share identified challenges and drive policy enhancements and process changes
  • Support COM Team Leads in their escalations to contract owners, identifying relevant support contacts, and ensuring timely resolution of issues
  • Engage with Contract Audit Directors to establish strong knowledge-sharing mechanisms between audit functions and obligations monitoring
  • Represent the COM function in cross-functional forums to promote awareness, adoption, and best practices

3. Global Oversight & Performance Management

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for COM Team Leads across locations and time zones, ensuring consistent execution of global COM practices
  • Conduct frequent reviews of key COM performance metrics, including activity KPIs and compliance trends, and drive corrective actions as needed
  • Ensure alignment of COM activities across geographies, standardizing reporting and performance tracking methodologies
  • In coordination with the Head of COMA and GPO, work with the Insight & Analytics team to build and continuously improve COM dashboards enabling efficient KPI monitoring

4. Project Management & Expansion Initiatives

  • Lead the operational implementation of Sanofi’s COM framework, including Change Management, in partnership with the Head of COMA
  • Work with Procurement, Business, and Contract Services teams to evaluate suppliers proposed for COM inclusion beyond the pilot phase, assessing vendor activities, contractual frameworks, and associated risks
  • Develop structured recommendations for phased expansion of COM scope, ensuring a scalable and effective approach

5. People Leadership & Capability Development

  • Directly manage COM Team Leads, ensuring effective oversight and alignment across global teams
  • Develop training and capability-building plans for Team Leads and COM Specialists to enhance expertise and operational efficiency
  • Foster a high-performance culture by providing coaching, mentorship, and career development opportunities
  • Create an organization of change agents, providing open, honest, and valuable feedback on the performance of team members in support of individual and functional-level goals and objectives
