Nexans in Lyon, France is recruiting a Substances Corporate Manager to lead REACH compliance and governance across global operations. You will coordinate tools, processes, and experts, ensuring regulatory readiness and sustainability reporting obligations are met.

You will collaborate with a worldwide network, monitor regulatory developments, and support business units in responding to customer inquiries on substances regulations, driving continuous improvement in compliance posture.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Engineering degree in Chemistry, Polymeric Materials, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in REACH regulation with at least 2 years of experience in substances legislation management or chemical regulatory compliance.
  • Strong project management skills and experience working in transversal and international environments.
  • Ability to coordinate networks, deliver training, and engage stakeholders across multiple locations and functions.

  • Manage regulatory actions related to substances legislation, including registrations, notifications, declarations.
  • Develop, maintain, and promote digital tools supporting substances compliance and sustainability reporting obligations.
  • Coordinate and support a worldwide network of REACH coordinators and substances experts through training and knowledge-sharing.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and recommend mitigation or substitution actions.
  • Support business units in responding to customer requests related to substances regulations.

Welcome to the Team

As part of a replacement, we are looking for a Substances Corporate Manager to join Nexans' Sustainable Development Department.

In an increasingly demanding regulatory environment, Nexans must ensure compliance with REACH and other substances-related regulations while strengthening product traceability and supporting growing sustainability reporting requirements. This role is key to maintaining and continuously improving our global compliance framework, tools, processes, and expert network.

You will work closely with a worldwide network of substances experts and REACh coordinators to ensure the effective deployment of compliance processes, tools, and reporting requirements across the Group.

Getting a Flying Start

As Substances Corporate Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating Nexans' approach to substances regulations, with a particular focus on REACH and related legislation.

You will manage and continuously improve the tools, processes, and governance required to ensure compliance across our worldwide operations. Through the animation of an international network of experts, you will support business units in their daily compliance activities, monitor regulatory developments, and contribute to the implementation of sustainability reporting requirements related to substances management.

Your work will contribute directly to regulatory compliance, risk anticipation, substances traceability, and customer support across the Group.

How You Make an Impact
  • Lead the deployment and continuous improvement of Nexans' REACH compliance processes, procedures, and quality documentation.
  • Manage regulatory actions related to substances legislation, including registrations, notifications, declarations, and related compliance requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and promote digital tools supporting substances compliance and sustainability reporting obligations.
  • Coordinate and support a worldwide network of REACh coordinators and substances experts through training, communication, and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Monitor regulatory developments, assess their impact on Nexans' products and activities, and recommend appropriate mitigation or substitution actions.
  • Support business units in responding to customer requests related to substances regulations and product compliance.
  • Define, monitor, and communicate compliance indicators to management and the REACh network to drive continuous improvement.
Your Starting Points
  • Master's degree or Engineering degree in Chemistry, Polymeric Materials, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in REACH regulation with at least 2 years of experience in substances legislation management or chemical regulatory compliance.
  • Strong project management skills and experience working in transversal and international environments.
  • Ability to coordinate networks, deliver training, and engage stakeholders across multiple locations and functions.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English;
  • Comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and driving projects to completion.
  • Rigorous, organized, proactive, results-oriented, and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
