Location: CONUS - Washington, DC Metro Area or Telework (Remote). This is a Contract Contingent or Contract W-2 (IRS-1099) position. Seeking a highly qualified Nuclear Energy SME to represent the Department of Energy Office of Nuclear Energy (DOE/NE) regarding the AC-100M Centrifuge Development and Licensing. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and experience in nuclear energy technologies, specifically in the development, demonstration, and operations of the AC-100M centrifuge. Primary responsibilities include providing independent technical reviews in centrifuge design, manufacture, installation, operation, maintenance, and Balance of Plant support systems and deployment.
Core Support Functions: provide support through steady state operations with emphasis on cascade performance, maintenance activities and parts replacement as needed; perform functional assessments of Centrus' compliance to regulatory criteria of the Lessee Requirements Document; perform independent evaluations (operational and compliance based), readiness reviews, assessments, walk-downs, and field inspections at Centrus facilities in Piketon, OH; coordinate regulatory boundary activities with co-located DOE contractors, DOE site personnel, and with the NRC as appropriate; interface with DOE entities, lease activities, and other DOE contractors for liaison activities related to Centrus and NRC; develop analyses, technical assessments, and white papers to support DOE/NE management decisions; review and develop analysis of reports, assessments, and proposals and cost documentation related to uranium enrichment technologies; analyze DOE requirements involving MOAs and MOUs; analyze security/facility access programs and related technical evaluations; address NE-HQ requests related to Centrus facilities; provide SME, project management, engineering and technical assistance to NEHQ for project planning, execution, and deployment of domestic uranium enrichment capability and HALEU Demonstration and Operations Program; attend and provide reviews of Centrus status reports and deployment requirements.
